Artist Statement:

Jane Askey is a painter exploring floral subject matter through still life. The resonance of objects and their associations with time and place are central to the paintings. 

Jane's background in Textile Design informs her fresh use of colour and love of decoration.

Flowers from the garden, vintage fabrics, found papers and decorative ceramics are combined to create a personal interpretation of colour and pattern which captures the essence of places and experiences.
