A striking collection of Mary-Jane's ceramics are in the gallery now
We're delighted to show Mary-Jane Evans' striking ceramics in our Christmas show.
The main inspiration for Mary-Jane's work is the Jurassic coast, in particular Kimmeridge and she spends a lot of time sketching and photographing the area.
Experimentation has always been really important to Mary-Jane and pushing materials to extremes is essential to her work.
She has been using porcelain and corrosive materials to achieve the desired effects and she multi-fires pieces, adding layers of glaze and porcelain to create fissures and cracks.
The collection will stay on display until 16th January 2013.
