Graham Towler, Biography

Graham Towler trained at Bournemouth College of Art where from 1971 to 1975 he studied life drawing and illustration under the guidance of Sam Rabin and Stanley Payne RCA.

He then freelanced as a Graphic Designer, later becoming employed by Link House Publications in Poole, where he produced artwork for Exhange and Mart magazine. In 1985 he joined his brothers' graphic design company, Creative Studios.

Painting was always one of Grahams main interests and many elements of his painting he has been able to bring into Creative Studios design work, particularly in the promotion of travel and tourism.

Graham has always had a keen interest in nature and all its moods, especially landscapes. The atmosphere and effects of light, the changing tones and moods, colours and textures are a never-ending source of inspiration.

The influence of Turner and the early french impressionists - particularly Van Gogh and Monet - have been clearly visible in Graham's earlier work.

His work has been exhibited in galleries around the South of England where he has sold and undertaken commisions on a regular basis.

He has over the last 5 years produced a number of paintings in Acrylic that have been inspired by Dorset's Jurassic coastline and The Exmoor National Park.
