Guymer - current work
The use of vivid colour excites him and is very much part of his work
Guymer’s philosophy and approach is to use bright vivid colour to raise the spirits and heighten emotion in a world which can sometimes seem less than perfect.
The use of vibrant colour is an integral part of Guymer’s work and has become his hallmark. Each original painting is created to uplift the viewer and reflects the vibrancy of life. Taking inspiration from the world around him and his life’s experiences he uses colour and movement to uniquely interpret the energy of life, the natural world and the interaction of these elements with the modern world.
Using planned ideas and spontaneity in his work, Guymer takes time to choose and blend each palette, applies the paint to the canvas and controlling the medium he produces movement and fluidity in many of his pieces bringing emotions alive in his more scrutinised study and interpretation of the subject. This is Guymer’s unique abstract style.
