Michelle Elwell - current work
Her prints are a response to her fascination with the aesthetics and ephemerality of nature.
Artist and printmaker Michelle Elwell studied Fine Art at Central St. Martins and Byam Shaw School of Art. Michelle then went on to specialise in printmaking and in 2008 she graduated with an MA in Printmaking from the University of Brighton, in association with the London Print Studio.
Michelle Elwell uses traditional and digital print methods to create nature inspired images. Her prints are a response to her fascination with the aesthetics and ephemerality of nature.
Michelle's work is concerned with accepting that everything is in a state of transition and acknowledging the inevitability of decay, death and rejuvenation.
By engaging with natural forms through drawing, macro photography and the printmaking process, Michelle is endeavouring to draw out the intricate qualities and complexities of their form.
