Nick Andrew - current work
Nick expresses the vitality and freshness of the natural world.
Nick was born in 1957 in Oxfordshire and studied art and graphic design in Oxford, London and Cheltenham.
Nick has been working as a painter and has exhibited widely throughout the UK, mainland Europe and the USA.He has work in many public and private collections. 15 years ago he moved to his present home and studio in part of a watermill on the upper reaches of the River Wylye in South Wiltshire.
Nick explores the nearby water-meadows, lakes, woodland and especially the river in all seasons and times of day. Through his paintings he aims to express the vitality and freshness of the natural world and his own quiet, solitary involvement with the landscape. Nick paints using acrylic and oil on canvas, paper and board with bold, vigorous brush-strokes and vibrant colours to capture a sense of the atmosphere and the movement, patterns, textures and contrasts which he finds inspiring in these beautiful surroundings.
