Liz Hauck, Abstract Artist raises £8,325 for cancer research

theartagency.co.uk are pleased to announce an exciting new addition to our portfolio - abstract artist Liz Hauck - who will be showing her latest collection of work at Little Buckland Gallery in September.
Liz has just completed the Surrey Artists Open Studio event where her particular Visual Jazz collection was very special - all proceeds from her sales went to The Eve Appeal - a charity raising funds to fight gynaecological cancer.
The event was so successful that Liz was able to raise a staggering £8,325 for the charity.
She is now busy painting a body of new work for us to show at our first event at The Little Buckland Gallery in the Cotswolds at the end of September.
Liz’s oil paintings are abstract and expressionistic - ‘mindscapes’ which fuse feelings, experiences and memories - using vibrant yet subtle colour adjacencies and rich textures achieved with palette knife and sgraffito techniques. The thirty six paintings sold from her ‘Visual Jazz’ series are all named after a great vocal track.
As Liz explains,
“The creative process is similar to the improvisation of a jazz player; a kind of ‘riffing’ around an idea using colour, shape and texture. As in jazz, discordant elements highlight a visual harmony. When the painting is finished, I name it after a particular jazz track which I feel evokes the mood.”
The Eve Appeal was launched in 2005 to help save women’s lives by funding research into gynaecological cancer and to raise awareness of the diseases.
Robert Marsh, CEO of The Eve Appeal said, “We are really grateful to Liz for her superb achievement, raising vital funds for this important research and helping us to raise awareness of The Eve Appeal.
