Olly Howe is a contemporary artist whose work combines digital composition, silkscreen, fine art printing, spray painting, and stenciling to create richly layered pieces that merge the beauty of the modern world with a surreal, fantastical essence. His work often centers on the female form, blending natural elements with abstract, hand-drawn motifs to craft art that is both visually engaging and thought-provoking.
Based in his studio on the Cornish coast, Olly’s journey as an artist began with a deep connection to abstract expressionism during his A-Level studies, inspired by a transformative visit to the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris. After honing his skills in Graphic Design at Plymouth College of Art & Design and spending over a decade in London as a designer and illustrator for leading creative agencies, Olly transitioned to life as a full-time artist.
In 2018, his self-published limited-edition print Wilderness sold out within weeks, marking a pivotal moment in his career. A move to Newquay led to a collaborative studio space with established graffiti-pop artist Ben Allen, where Olly developed his printmaking techniques and elevated his art to new heights.
Olly’s creative process is fluid and experimental. Beginning with a spark of inspiration, he builds each piece by merging photographic elements, hand-made marks, and textures into cohesive compositions through digital editing. The final artworks are brought to life using a mix of traditional and modern techniques, resulting in both original and print editions.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Tristan Eaton, Zaria Forman, and Gabriel Moreno, Olly continues to evolve his style while staying true to his passion for pushing boundaries. Now represented by galleries across the UK, his work resonates with collectors seeking art that challenges perception and sparks imagination.
Living and working along the stunning Cornish coastline, Olly’s art reflects his connection to the free-spirited nature of the human mind and the ever-changing beauty of his surroundings.
