Sally Anne is a painter, with a background in Textile Design and Ceramics having gained a 1st Class BA Hons from Bristol Art School.
After a course in Textile Print and and a short time as a freelance textile designer she set up her own Textile Design Studio in Clerkenwell London.
The studio was called Digby Morton Designs and worked with Liberty, Monsoon, Laura Ashley, Calvin Klein, Nicole Farhi and Cerrutti among others .
The designs were characteristically experimental and painterly and became sought after with clients in Japan,New York and Paris and London.
After a relocation to North Norfolk the natural and effortless move to painting began and Sally now works from her North Norfolk home / Studio creating vibrant florals stilllifes and seascapes.
Pattern , colour and texture all play a large part in her paintings.
In her floral paintings she works closely from the seasons, beginning with Hellebores , Cherry Blossom and Snowdrops through to the last Winter Rose or Hollyhock.
She paints the seascapes of the North Norfolk Coast on her doorstep inspired by the expansive skies and unique Marram Grass covered dunes.
She has always used elements of collage and gold leaf in her paintings to create a surface with a mosaic and multi - faceted feel and techniques of layering and scraping back to create texture that results in paintings that are vibrant, luminous and full of interest.
In Sally's work creative freedom is important .
Her paintings are joyful and she says "If people feel happy looking at my paintings then I have achieved something I was hoping for."
